Jesus Was Homeless is a project born on the road during a round trip from Los Angeles to San Francisco. A trip originated from a desire to feel alive again. A travel where freedom of movement became freedom of expression, where the diverse artistic, cultural and social issues arising from those American metropolises enriched and re-ignited the creative sparks of the band founding members, giving birth to their debut album: “The Landing”, a collection of songs that definitely gathers all the experiences of the road trip in one coherent work.

This project is then deeply rooted in international grounds, untamed by the Italian scene logics and market, aiming toward wider horizons. The band is a three piece with a mixed musical background: we have Tiziano on vocals and guitar, Maruko on guitars and electronix and Alessandro on drums

Jesus Was Homeless is signed to the independent label O.B.E. Records, dividing itself between Los Angeles, London and Rome and, as a consequence, The Landing has been recorded, mixed and mastered in several steps between Rome and London at Rituality studios, Chris Sheldon's studio, Eden studios, 360 Mastering and Reference studios.

The end result is a innovative mixture of that brings very shortly to a deal with Halftonic, a sub-brand of famed Japanese label Marquee Records, releasing The Landing in Japan and Asia in May 2008 with very encouraging results.

Jesus Was Homeless decides then to propose the album to the European public, starting from the Italian market, and by the closing of 2008 the song Melting is chosen as the opening single, gaining immediate airplay on the best Italian radio networks.

The band generated a notable interest in media circles and in December 2008 is invited to perform Melting for the fund raising television programme Telethon and then in January at the music show Scalo 76 Cargo, both broadcasted by Italian national network RAI 2.

The band then shot a video for their single, co-produced by O.B.E. Records and Incredible Machine and directed by Daniele Prato who has recently awarded with Nastro D'Argento and Globo D'Oro for “Passato Prossimo” featuring actress Paola Cortellesi. Direction of photography instead has been taken care by Daniele Poli, of famed Sky Fox News series “Boris”. Sourcing from the song explicit attack to the star-system, the video has been shot in a ex-hangar now used as a cinematographic equipment deposit, where the band performance seems to rebel against its role as a mere scenic tool, as yet another chain link in the show business machine.

In mid May 2009, after a short stint during which they were featured on their web portal, Virgin Radio FM puts Melting on heavy rotation, soon followed by other national broadcasting networks. This gives new impetus to the album, which is now available worldwide on iTunes, Amazon.com and other digital downloads sites.

As any rock band worth its salt though, Jesus Was Homeless don't forget that they have to gain the attention of their public by playing live and have successfully taken the stage in several famous clubs in Rome and Milan such as: Piper (twice, once supporting Japanese revelation Polisix and then again with Italian pop-rock acts Velvet and Le Mani), Circolo degli Artisti, Alien, Rock’n’Roll in Milan and then in Rho, Traffic, Qube, Jailbreak, Nike Temporary Store and Zoe.

In October 2009 the band has been invited to partecipate to (H)it Week Los Angeles festival along famed artists such as: Franco Battiato, Giovanni Allevi, Afterhours, Africa Unite, Le Vibrazioni, Negrita and some others, to represent the Italian music in the United States.

The band latest single is a very personal rendition of Self Control, the 80's smash hit by Raf and Lara Branighan. The song, which is digitally available as a free download from the web page www.selfctrl.com, is accompanied by a video shot in downtown Los Angeles and the California desert by director Adam Mason, of “Blood River” fame and with an impressive curriculum in music video production.

At the release of the new single, Jesus Was Homeless is invited to perform the song on Uno Mattina, the Italian National Network RAI1 morning programme.

In 2010 the band regrouped in their studio to work on their new album “The Message”. This new batch of songs will be released in 2011 and will be launched in the UK with the collaboration of Scream Promotions and Savage Gringo Publicity, two professionally acclaimed realities in the British music business.

The band has already field tested their new songs in the UK in 2010 with two successful gigs in two famous London venues: The Monto Water Rats and The Dublin Castle. Such was the clamour caused by the band performances that both venues have booked them again in Spring 2011.

Starting on February 12th 2011 the band’s song Melting will be featured as opening titles music for the show Social King for Italian National Network RAI2. The programme also features incidental music composed by the band.
